Rapid test for the detection of FPV Ag in feline feces
Cat parvovirus is a viral enteritis that causes panleukopenia. It is highly contagious and has a high mortality rate, so it is fatal to all cat species. It is infected by contact with body fluids and excrement of infected animals, and even if it does not come into contact with these vectors, it can be infected by contamination of the environment or objects. Symptoms include bloody excrement, diarrhea, severe dehydration, malnutrition, and anemia, and panleukocytopenia is a symptom in which white blood cells are significantly reduced. After a gastrointestinal infection, rapid sepsis progresses and dies suddenly. Since it can be transmitted from dogs, cross-species infection is possible, and individuals recovering after infection can emit the virus for several weeks.
